Match Entry Rules

Read the full entry conditions, tackle rules, and conduct guidelines before booking your place in any fixture.

General Rules

1

NO MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED.

1.1

All our matches are friendly yet equally competitive matches that welcome all Youth, Club or Open level of angler.

1.2

However no ELITE FULL TIME anglers are allowed to book on (with the exception of charity or memorial matches).

1.3

Sponsored anglers are welcome — please make contact if you're unsure.

1.4

Match costs are set as low as possible per angler, per match (subject to fishery costs) but we aim to spread all payouts to encourage more anglers to join our matches.

Deposits

A Non Refundable Pegging Fee Deposit, per Match or Festival is required within 7 days in which time your peg is reserved.

2.1

HOWEVER should an angler book off a match or festival before the 8pm cut off deadline of the individual match or festival and a replacement angler is found then his or her non refundable deposit is refundable.

2.1.1

If replacements aren't found then all deposits are non refundable.

2.1.2

All bank or PayPal refunds are minus a £1.00 service charge due to MatchTex Angling banking charges.

2.1.3

If a non refundable deposit is not received within 7 days of an angler asking to book on then his or her peg will be unreserved.

2.2

Anglers offered a reserve place will have their pegs reserved for 2 days (48 hours) in which time a minimum of a non refundable deposit must be received.

2.3

Anglers offered a reserve place (for a festival or match) that is less than 7 days away will have their pegs reserved for 2 days (48 hours) however you must respond to the message sent via messenger or text and your full match cost must be received.

2.4

If an angler books off Sykehouse Fisheries 3 day festival after 8pm Saturday 04/07 DEADLINE and a replacement angler is found, only remaining balances (pools) will be refunded.

2.4.1

If an angler books off Janson Fishery 2 day festival after 8pm Sunday 26/07 DEADLINE and a replacement angler is found, only remaining balances (pools) will be refunded.

2.5

If an angler asks to book off a individual match or festival and contact has been made with 1st reserve, should that angler ask to be reinstated then the answer is NO.

2.6

Only anglers that transfer their match place to another angler (reserve list take priority) after the 8pm DEADLINE will have their full match costs transferred.

2.6.1

Match Secretary must be informed of the angler change before the 8pm deadline.

2.7

If an angler books off 3 or more consecutive matches, then they're required to pay their full match cost before being booked onto their next match.

2.8

All via your preferred payment choice of Cash, PayPal Gift or Bank Transfer (BACS).

Remaining Balance (Pools)

ALL POOLS ARE NOW PAID IN ADVANCE VIA CASH / PAYPAL / BACS.

3.1

ALL POOLS MUST BE ENTERED.

3.1.1

ALL PAYOUTS ARE MADE IN CASH ON THE DAY OF THE MATCH.

3.2

Your remaining balance (pools) are fully refundable however pools must be paid by 8pm Thursday before the date of each Saturday match or 8pm Friday before the date of each Sunday match, after which they become non refundable.

3.3

Sykehouse Fisheries 3 day festival excluded — 8pm Saturday (04/07) (13 days before Day 1) after which they become non refundable.

3.4

Janson Fishery 2 day festival excluded — 8pm Sunday (26/07) (13 days before Day 1) after which they become non refundable.

3.5

Optional Super Pools for Sykehouse are £45.00.

3.6

Optional Super Pools for Janson are £30.00.

3.7

All Super Pools are fully refundable up until your Day 1 draw.

3.7.1

All via your preferred payment choice of Cash, PayPal Gift or Bank Transfer.

3.8

If entering Super Pools on the morning of Day 1, only CASH will be accepted.

3.9

Only anglers that transfer their match place to another angler (reserve list take priority) after the 8pm DEADLINE will have their full match costs transferred.

Match Rules

All monies are transferable to your own replacement angler should you be unable to make that match (RESERVE LIST TAKES PRIORITY).

4.1

You must notify the Match Secretary before the 8pm cut off deadline of the individual match or festival.

4.2

If you're unable to attend a match, you must inform the match secretary and I'll attempt to find you a replacement. (Reserve list takes priority).

4.3

Should an angler book off after 8pm Thursday or 8pm Friday (DEADLINE) of a match, and a replacement is found, NO MATCH COSTS WILL BE REFUNDED.

4.4

Remaining balance (pools) reminders will be posted onto the MatchTex Angling Facebook Group for anyone booked onto a match 7 days before the date of a match.

4.4.1

Anyone not in the group or on Facebook will be contacted personally or sent a 24hr reminder.

4.4.2

If pools are not paid by the cut off date and time and no contact has been made, that will be taken as the angler no longer wishing to fish that match and that angler will be booked off.

4.4.3

Any angler booking onto a match within 7 days of the match date must pay their full match cost.

4.5

If a match booking is struggling for numbers, we reserve the right to reduce the PEGS/LAKE(s) booked.

4.6

All lake costs are divided amongst participating anglers.

4.7

Should a match booking be cancelled by MatchTex Angling or a Fishery then his or her NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT will be refunded or transferred.

4.8

You must be booked onto a match no later than the day before the date of the match.

4.9

With the exception of replacement anglers and remaining availability.

5

No PEGS will be added for anglers wanting to be booked on on the morning of a match.

5.1

An angler's peg fee will not be transferred to another match should he or she decide they no longer wish to fish that match.

5.2

If an angler is offered a reserve peg less than 24 hours before a match, he or she has 3 hours to make full match payment before the place is offered to the next available angler.

5.3

All anglers that require an accessible peg must inform the Match Secretary before the draw commences so that a compassionate draw can be arranged.

5.4

All junior anglers must be accompanied by a responsible adult and under no circumstances must be left unsupervised during match fishing times.

5.5

We will fish to the individual fishery rules. It's your responsibility as an angler to know these before attending the fishery.

5.6

Fishery rules will be posted on the Facebook group 13 days prior to a festival.

5.7

Thursday prior to the date of a Saturday match or Friday prior to the date of a Sunday match.

All lakes are pegged by the individual fishery on behalf of MatchTex Angling and once drawn a peg shall not be changed.

6.1

If an angler doesn't use Facebook, he or she must provide a mobile contact number or email address should they need to be contacted regarding the match they're booked onto.

6.2

If there is a dispute regarding a fishery rule not being followed, this must be raised with the MATCH SECRETARY or MATCH ORGANISER (on that day) during match times and not after.

6.3

Disclaimer: MatchTex Angling / Peter Craig / Individual match coordinators DO NOT ACCEPT any responsibility for injuries, loss of tackle, loss of personal belongings or damage to vehicles from any angler booked on or visiting the fishery/fisheries on any of our matches.

Festival Rules

All anglers not weighing in will incur an additional 2 section points (per match) and will also not be eligible for any additional prize draws on that festival.

7.1

Should framers all come from the same default section and no other weights are recorded from the remaining pegs in that section then that section prize is to be divided between those anglers.

7.2

Should no angler weigh in their default section then that section prize is to be divided between all framing places.

7.3

All MatchTex Angling rules are listed via the MatchTex Angling Facebook wall and MatchTex Angling 2026 Matches group. If an angler is not on Facebook then these will be sent via text or email.

Rolling Draw

8

Draw or Rolling Draw times are set from 08:00am until 08:30am on the morning of every match (unless otherwise stated).

8.1

Please be drawn no later than 08:30am unless a draw time is later, or unless you notify MatchTex Angling that you're running late.

8.2

Once you've drawn your peg, each angler is responsible for writing their name next to their PEG NUMBER on the weigh sheets provided.

8.3

Match Times: Will be set at a duration of 6 hours — 10:00am All-in / 16:00pm All-out unless daylight hours, fishery rules dictate 5 hours or a match time is listed.

8.4

If an angler doesn't attend the draw without informing MatchTex Angling that they're running late then their peg will be offered to anyone that wants to fish.

8.5

30 minutes will be allowed after the rolling draw has finished in which time contact will be attempted with the angler.

Weigh Ins

9

Before the draw on every match, please can I ask for a minimum of 2 volunteers to carry out the weigh ins.

9.1

Reuben Heaton digital scales are used — please ask the match secretary if you're unsure of how these work.

9.2

Any additional help if possible would be very much appreciated.

9.3

All Net Weights and Total Weights must be recorded.

9.4

Weigh equipment will be placed at the draw area for an angler to collect and take with them.

9.5

All weigh boards will be placed inside the weigh bucket or passed onto an angler.

9.6

All weigh equipment must be returned to the match organiser/coordinator before he or she leaves the fishery.

10

Each angler (unless help is required) is responsible for lifting their own keepnets out of the water and transferring fish safely into the weigh bucket provided.

General

11

Anyone collecting payouts for other anglers must provide their name in order to collect.

12

When booking on a match, it's recommended that a contact number or email address is provided.

13

All payouts will be made in cash on the day of the match.

14

A maximum of 6% of the overall pools will be retained for the future use of MatchTex Angling.
